Bilimsel gerçekçiliği öznel yaklaşımlar karşısında bilimsel olarak daha güçlü yapan nedir?

Abstract

Yönetim ve organizasyon araştırmaları yıllardır pozitivizm ile postmodernist tartışmaların gölgesinde yürütülmektedir. Pozitivizmin yalın nedensellik anlayışı ve metafiziğe karşı duruşu ile postmodernizmin ontolojik ve epistemolojik sorunları, yönetim ve organizasyon alanının bilimsel meşruiyetinin sorgulanmasına neden olmaktadır. Söz konusu sorunların aşılmasında ve alanın araştırma programının özelliklerine ilişkin bir başvuru çerçevesi oluşturulmasında bilimsel gerçekçilikten yararlanılabilir. Bilimsel gerçekçiliğin, hem postmodernizm hem de pozitivizmin sorunlarını giderme olanaklarını sunduğu iddia edilebilir. Ontolojik ve epistemolojik sorunların sağlam bir zeminde tartışılması ve çözülmesinde, bilinç-beyin ikiliği tartışmalarında ortaya çıkan ussal nitelik sorunlarının fizikselci yaklaşımlarla aşılmasında, belirlenim tartışmasının solipsizme savrulmadan ve bilimsel meşruiyet içinde çözülmesinde bilimsel gerçekçiliğin tutarlı bir bilim felsefesi çerçevesi sunduğu ileri sürülebilir.

Organizational and management researches have been conducted for many years in the shadow of positivism and postmodernist debates. It is seen that positivism’s plain sense of causality and its stance against metaphysics and postmodernism’s ontological and epistemological problems lead to the question of scientific legitimacy of the organizational and management field. Scientific realism can be exploited in overcoming these problems and creating a reference framework for the characteristics of the field's research program. It can be asserted that scientific realism offers opportunities to address the problems of postmodernism and positivism. Scientific realism offers consistent framework of philosophy of science and the adoption of scientific realism can be beneficial in discussing and resolving ontological and epistemological problems on a solid ground, in overcoming the problems of rationality emerged in the discussions of consciousness-brain duality with physicalist approaches, and in resolving the debate on determinism without heading to solipsism within scientific legitimacy.
