dc.description.abstract | Background: Assessments of women's satisfaction with their care during labour and birth are relevant to healthcare providers, administrators, and policymakers to assess the quality of care. This study aims to determine the level of birth satisfaction and affecting factors in Turkey through a systematic review and meta-analysis. Materials and methods: In the study, 12 main studies published between January 2017 and May 2022 and meeting the inclusion criteria were examined. Studies using the same measurement tool to make a joint estimation were examined. In the studies, the Maternal Satisfaction Evaluation Scale in Normal Birth (SMMS-NB) and the Maternal Satisfaction Evaluation Scale in Cesarean Birth (SMMS-CB) were used to determine the level of satisfaction. In 6 of the studies, satisfaction level was examined for both cesarean and normal birth. While the random-effects model was used for variances between studies, Egger's and Begg's tests were used for publication bias. Cochran Q and I2 values were calculated for heterogeneity. Findings: It was found that the SMMS-NB common estimate of women who had normal delivery in Turkey was 141.544 standard error of 5.128 (95% CI for I2= 99.42 to 99.59). And also found that the SDAMSS common estimate was 141.571, and the standard error was 5.422 (95% CI for I2=98.51 to 99.22). According to the random effect model, the difference in scores between the cesarean and normal birth group in the total number of patients was determined as -0.137 (SE: 0.0619). It has been observed that various factors affect the level of satisfaction. Conclusion and recommendations: It was determined that the satisfaction levels of puerperal women in Turkey with cesarean and normal birth were not high. The satisfaction levels of women who gave normal birth were slightly better than those who gave birth by cesarean birth. | en_US |
